Range-X
is an affordable TOSLINK cable extender receiver/ transmitter
solution.
It enables any optical Adat or SPDIF signal to be transported
with no latency
through a single Cat
5 Network cable for
more then 75m (200 ft) in any
direction, allows to install converters or any other Adat
devices far away from
its source or target device. It is also possible to use
standard Microphone cables
with the possible decrease of the maximum transmission
length. |

Range-X
(PRO) Converterbox:

2 Range-X (PRO) Converters can be directly connected and
provide a simple ADAT/SPDIF long range transmission. They
host an ADAT/SPDIF compatible (Toslink) In- and Output
and a Range-X (PRO) Send and Receive port (XLRmale/female).
In- and output are (like in ADAT/SPDIF) totally independently
usable and can be connected to the sameor to different
units. The Converterboxes are of course also able to send
Adat 96 kHz reducing the number of channels to 4 as normally
the case with adat transmission. With this solution it
is possible to increase the number of analog lines in
fixed installations factor eight, and ADAT or SPDIF units
can be placed right where they are needed.
Due to the fact that Range-X is a very cost effective
solution, it does even make
sense to replace analog lines in digital systems with
this solution.

Range-X
(PRO) is an affordable TOSLINK cable extender receiver/
transmitter solution .
It enables any optical Adat or SPDIF signal to be transported
with no latency
through a single balanced AES/EBU cable for morethen 75m
(200 ft) in any
direction, allowing to install converters or any other
ADAT devices far away from
its source or target device. It is also possible to use
standard microphone cables
with the possible decreaseof the maximum transmission
length. A D-Matrixx Con-
verterblock can host up to 8 Range-X Modules instead of
the AD-DA Modules pro-
viding again a total of 64 ins and 64 outs. On the other
end of the Range-X line a
dedicated D-Mexx Range-X satellite can be used or, when
using a Range-X conver-
terbox on this side, any other ADAT compatible device.
This enables the user to use converters for example in
the recording room, far away from the D-Matrixx
Converterblock, the D-Matrixx, the DAW-Computer or the
recorder. 8 Channel live
snakes can be easily put to the exact location on stage,
or installed microphone
lines can be used each for 8 instead of one channel.Range-X
adds no additional
Latency to the system by creating a vast variety of new
exciting possibilities.
