Live and outdoor demands for digital multichannel audio are growing every day. MADI gains a foothold as an easy to use hum free universal and versatile interface to span huge distances with no loss in quality here as well. But with all its advantages it also brings one major new obstacle! The mechanical vulnerability of its fiber optical cables! Unlike in most analogue systems, a small damage results here always in a total blackout. Other than in fixed installations, the cables are here unprotected and exposed to all sorts of mechanical threats like stairs, corners, flightcase- wheels or just being stepped on or bent by a careless crew member. We offer especially for these demands ruggadized fiber optical cables, that are specially protected against those daily occuring mechanical threats "on the road".
Our Military MADI cable features 100 kpsi proof-tested fiber, a primary buffer of UV-cured acrylate material to a diameter of 500 μm and a secondary hard elastomeric buffer to 900 μm diameter. This provides the ultimate environmental and mechanical protection and is identical to the buffering on military tactical cables. It can withstand any flightcase, a truck or even a tank running over it and works under all possible imaginable scenarios in digital audio.
